We understand that sometiems you have questions. If they are not answered here pin down and admin and beat it out of them ask an admin or a staff member about what you should do ^^
Q: How big is a lycanthrope in animal form? A: While each species has it listed in the allowed species, in general, they are about 1 and a half times larger than their natural counterpart. There are certain exceptions to this rule though so it's always important to check the Allowed Species Thread to make sure.
Q: Can a lycanthrope be hurt or killed? A: Yes on both counts. While a shifter can not get infections and can take a lot of damage, shifters are not immortal and can die. They heal both fire wounds, wounds from other shifters and wounds caused by silver human slow and can easily die from them. Also, many shifters, while they can heal wounds caused by steel and other materials, sometimes the damage is too much and they die of blood loss. They can also die from things like starvation and over exposure (the second is a bit less likely).
Q: Does an animal form's colors (coat and eye) affect the human form? A: They can. Some chose not to do this but many times, the coat color (base) and the eye colors transition into their human form as well. For example, if you had a white wolf with blue eyes, it would be possible for your human form to have white hair and blue eyes. This is particularly true in avians. On the other half of that, they could be an entirely different color combo or half and half. Keep in mind most shifters with strange hair colors and eye colors either dye their hair and wear contacts or lie about it.
Q: How many leaders or alphas am I allowed to have? A: You are only allowed to have 1 leader at a time unless a special exception has been made. Alphas do not automatically equal a leader and you are allowed 2 of them at max, but you can not make them immediately. You may have an alpha as your first one, but you must have an omega or a beta before you can make another alpha. This rule is subject to change if it is abused.
Q: What are power points? A: Power Points are points earned by posting. These points can be used to but many things. You earn 1 power point per post.
Q: What can I buy with my power points? A: Power points can be used to buy the next level up in power (Omega > Beta > Alpha), as well as smaller powers for your current power level and even banned species.
Q: Do lycanthropes age slower than humans? A: Yes. While the date age increases normally, lycanthropes physically age much slower than humans. 5 or 6 Lycanthrope years is about 1 human year (meaning they grow old much slower).
Q: Must lycanthropes shift every time there is a full moon? A: No. While many like to, there is no physical need to. It is a time to let loose, romp around form bonds with other members of their groups as well as other species. For more information on how this works, please visit the Passage of Time thread.
Q: Can my character have mutations? A: No. Mutations are not allowed here. We do allow bi-colored eyes as well as strange colored eyes (purple, green on things that usually cant have it, etc)
Q: Can my character have strange markings? A: Yes. As long as the base coat color abides by the species, you are allowed to have strange markings. Your animal markings will show on a hybrid form (if you have it) but will not show up on a human form. Many, however, choose to have their strange animal markings tattooed.
Q: What do new lycantropes experience? A: The best way to answer this is to think of the flu. They get the spike in temperature, the aching of the body/muscles, they might have an increase in sense and may become paranoid. There isn't usually any sickness involved though if they experience dizziness it may result in vomiting depending on how the human-form usually takes to dizziness.
Also, if it is really close to a full moon, they might shift early depending on how anxious the beast is to be let free. (Unlike normal shifters, they are not used to their beast and MUST change on the full moon. All newly infected lycans must be present at the next available full moon thread) Oftentimes they will shift early on the day of the full moon (during the day - the moon is still up, just not visible). And during the first few shifts, they will have little to no control of their beast and their memory will be spotty at best.
Q: Do lycans HAVE to level up? A: No. Some lycans choose that they are more comfortable with where they are and how much power they have and not go seeking more. Think of it like Pickachu. Sometimes, you just don't want to be a Raichu.
