If a clan is unrulled, an alpha of the species may take it over. They do so by posting in this board. It could be as simple as "_____ claims the _____ clan" or it can be this big ol' epic poem, even an IC post. The claim is flexible for 48 hours after posting, meaning someone can come and challenge you on the claim. Should someone claim you, the two (or however many) have a choice on what to do. Either someone can back down, a random roll can be made to decide who gets it or an IC challenge fight can be made.
If you are attempting to challenge an alpha who is past the 48 hour mark, the only option is an IC fight.

-- Of the same species of the clan you are trying to claim
