OutfitSweet Little Lies - Fleetwood Mac The one thing Ashliya was soon coming to love about Phoenix, Arizona was the warm spring, blistering summer, warm fall, and frigid winter. The spring was her favorite season though. Everything was bright and beautiful. The trees and flowers coming into bloom. She especially loved the fashion. Stepping out of her house in a blue green dress paired with killer wedges, she felt like a movie star, even fixed her hair in, what they called vintage now a days, fashion. The simple waves and tons of the "I-wish-this-was-around-back-then" hairspray. Things such as hairspray astonded the seemingly twenty two year old woman. In actuality she had been through both world wars, seen the craze of the first model T sold at a little over $850, listened to the news of the Titanic sinking, both world wars, the great depression, a near world peace, and now she was here watching chaos happen. She was a whirlwind of history locked up into a young body of twenty two. But she was not a human, she was shifter, a wolf who could live in the future more than the past. She'd had friends die, mourned them, she'd seen the start of the shifter prejudiced and for how long she had lived she felt as if she was going to see the end of it. In one way or another.
For now, she was living off retirement money, a few times over; playing as the receiver of a nice sum from her dead mother "Ashliya I", and driving a brand new lime green Ford Escape. Travel had been made easy thousands of times over but while she could live in the future she still couldn't figure out the new radios and just popped a CD into the CD player and turned up the music. In her soft voice she sang along, "Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies. . . ."
Music might be the best thing to have progressed over the years and she had a vast CD collection. Her home had a huge wall lined with nothing but cases and cases starting with old records, cassette tapes, and CD's some just repeat's but couldn't face tossing the older cassette's. She knew that for some of her things she could make a pretty penny off it. Well if she ever felt the need to she might. Now a days she realized people had little music devices, if she knew someone who could show her how to use them she might have to upgrade again.
Tapping her thumbs on the steering wheel she made her way to a place she forgot had grown. Starbucks coffee. She had her laptop in her backseat and had to send some emails to her other professors. Luckily she had email down pat, everything else she could live without. If the damn internet crashed today she'd love to see everyone run around as they wouldn't know what to do. She herself would shift into a wolf and disappear as a wolf only to resurface again when the coast was clear. Oh the ways of keeping yourself safe was one in a million. Pulling her car to a stop, she casually got out, carefully taking the keys out, and grabbed her laptop case before locking everything back up. Drawn by the thought of a cool cup of coffee and pumpkin spice bread she walked in and breathed in the deep wonderful smells of coffee.
Her favorite was the original simple cup; tall, lowfat vanilla, frappuccino in the spring and summer, or latte in the fall and winter. While it wasn't always that she used that as her go to drink. Ordering everything up the nice lady called out her name and brunette smiled. Luckily her wolfish features blended in with society. Her long think nails just looked as if she went to the nail salon, her thick reddish brown hair was gone unnoticed, and her sweet green blue eyes were not uncommon in humans. She was more like a coyote than a wolf blending in when she needed to and standing out when she wanted to. Setting down she smiled nicely at a man who caught her eye and began to work on the emails she needed to send. Casually taking a bite of the pumpkin bread or sipping out of her frappuccino.

=mind if I join in? It wont be long though cuz i'm headin to bed=
BlackCloud had just went on his break from work. He was not one who liked to sit idle for extended periods of time. He had taken up a job working a lead mechanic at the local body shop and auto repair. As much as he hated Starbucks it was the closest thing to his job. He kick started his 1935 knucklehead and pulled out of the garage parking lot. It took him a little under five minutes to make the drive with traffic. BlackCloud's mind always seemed to be in his past and studying the mistakes he had made to try and be sure he never repeated them. He liked like your normal 25-30 year old man. However the reality of it was that he was actually one hundred and sixty one.
The sun beat down threw his blue jean jacket as he pulling into a parking spot and cut the engine and hit the kickstand. He pulled the keys and spun them in his hand as he dismounted the bike and put the keys into his pocket. His long Onyx black hair held a silk like shine in the hot afternoon sun. Despite looking human people always seemed to tell that there was something strange about Blackcloud. Most stayed clear of him simply because he was an Indian but other stayed farther back claiming that there was something dangerous and wild about him and that they could see it in his eyes. Of cores the fact that his eyes were a sharp gold even in human form did not help much. Though it was his rare eyes that seemed to make most women and even some men go weak in their knees.
The woman at the counter seemed to be one who liked the mystery that his strange eyes carried, despite the grease and oil that stained his shirt and side of his face. He placed his order and went to a table in the back once he had his coffee. He often lingered in the back of any cafe. Mostly to keep an eye on whomever else might walk threw the door. He already knew that there was another wolf in the cafe. He had caught her sent as soon as he pulled into the parking lot. He knew by sent that it was a she wolf and pin pointed who it was. BlackCloud made no attempt at starting anything with her in a public place. After all aside from being a golden eyed Indian most people did not know the simple fact that he was a werewolf. He would rather it stayed that way, so. He sat back at his table drinking his distasteful coffee and listening to those around him

(OoC: Welcome ) Ashliya was getting frustrated. The damn computer had shut off on her or deleted everything that she had written. She was getting to her wits end when she finally typed up everything spell checked it and sent it out. When it had gone through she let out a yelp of happiness, which startled a few people. She sent them apologetic grins and closed her lap top. She reached down to grab the rest of her pumpkin spice bread to find it was gone. She frowned. Well that sucked. Sighing she leaned back and took a deep breath and the scent of another dominant hit her heightened scent glands. Not just another dominant either, a wolf and an old one. She didn't want to turn but she felt the adrenaline pour through her. Usually older wolves treated her as a female of the past, not good for anything but doing chores or popping out babies, and they were meant to be treated like queens. As they came from times when women were to be cherished and respected, but without the rights they had now.
Letting out the breath she realized she was holding in, the cafe was holding two dominant wolves and her eyes actually went straight to the males back. Oh this would be fun. She watched as he went to sit down and maybe it was spured by her longing to be with another wolf the lone shifter packed up her stuff grabbed her coffee and sat right across from him. She smiled. There was no fear and this was unclaimed territory, they could be civil to each other. She was more of a laid back wolf but she could still feel the wolf instincts to either mate or not pay him any mind. Being old she could shove those instincts aside. She was sure the other members in the coffee shop wouldn't be able to understand an ancient language she spoke in his tongue. The ancient Athabaskan language of the Navajo. She'd learned it in her travels in Colorado, living as a pet wolf. Very interesting language and she wasn't sure if her dialect would be different enough this far south. She always found different languages interesting. Hence why she could be a professor of languages if she wanted to. That was if she wanted to.
She introduced herself, "My name is Ashliya, Sir, you have no idea how amazing it is to see another older wolf. Tell me how did you survive the massacre of our kind?
She sat waiting long fingers wrapped around her cup as she fixated on the old Navajo in front of her. She refused to call him more than what he was a wolf or ancient people. He must be much older than she and his dominance clouded around her like a thick warm blanket, she wondered if her own dominance did the same to him. She was an alpha just as much as he was but this wasn't a time for that she wondered if he needed another wolf as much as she did? She missed running with her people, the shifters. She wanted a pack and wanted to be there for the new shifters and either lead or help lead them. She didn't realized it but she was holding her breath again hoping he wasn't a jackass that some males could be.

BlackCloud was tuning out most people in the cafe. Ignoring their conversations of love and be trail. There was ever some chatter about shifters at the far end of the cafe yet they did not know that there were two in the cafe with them. It did not take long for him to feel the eyes of the female on his back and this to he ignored. He knew that she was an old blood just as he was and the fact that both were very dominate might not have been a good thing if they had been younger. His golden eyes stared deep into the coffee that he had barely touched. He never had much of a taste for the coffee that was served in the Starbucks cafes.
He had heard the female's happy yelp and the whispering it had started threw out the cafe. He smiled lightly at the seen that he did not actually watch but saw none the less. His eyes stayed fixed on the cup as the female sat down across from him. Tough he listened as she spoke his native tongue. Her accent was flawed a bit but that was normal for anyone who was not of the Navajo people. He raised his sharp gold eyes from his coffee and studied her for a moment. He could tell by her appearance alone that she was an old blood from around the early 1900's. He listened to what she had to say then thought it over for a moment.
"My name is BlackCloud. Do not call me 'Sir' as I work for a living." He said in a sharp but non threatening tone. "I was in the far north when it happened. Many good wolves were killed for no reason in those days. Though it seemed they did not give chase to those in the north. Most who are up there are all young bloods who think the only way is to fight." he said as his gaze turned towards the window.
BlackCloud felt her dominate aura but it did not bother him. He had been around for a while and n his younger days there was always some young dominate who wanted to try and fight. It seemed that the Dominating aura did not have the effect of them that it did on the young bloods.

Ashliya pursed her lips into a pout. She meant no disrespect but then again most dominant wolves found disrespect in everything so she shrugged with a smile and continued, "Forgive I did not mean any disrespect, once manners are beaten into you they stick, we were all omega's once," She laughed it off and listened to his tale with a nod. True the wilds of the north were much better to hide who you were. She herself traveled northwest after the hunt started. She knew about young ones and sent him a grin, "They all learn their place eventually, usually with a bit of twisting their tails they straighten up. worse than spoiled children the lot of them."
Ashliya herself turned to look out the window. It was a beautiful day here. The sun beating down on the few cars parked outside. Soon it would be time for swimming, hunting, and fishing. All things which she enjoyed. Distracted for a bit she realized how rude she must have been just waltzing up to another, when the wolf cried for company sometimes it was better to answer. Depression from being without others was a hard thing and she smiled sadly into her own cup of coffee, "I'm sorry for approaching you without warning, I've been a loner for a long time I get excited when I see another."
Honestly if she had been in wolf form she would have been wagging her tail and walking up with a happy grin on her face. That much in itself was true she turned her blue green gaze to him and turned her head to the side. Mostly curious. she hated to be pushed aside but as a loner she had no grounds here, plus from what she heard from the shifter bars Chandler was the neutral grounds. Stupid things as pack politics didn't belong here. Then again Ashliya felt like she didn't belong anywhere, she was hoping to find some solace somewhere. Her eyes never straying from his face. Listening for his response and her mind wondering if he knew or was a part of the local pack.

BlackCloud sensed the change in he aura and mood. He sensed her depression and loneliness. Again he felt her eyes on him. After a while he shifted his gaze and let his golden eyes met her's. "I suppose that is true for most. We were either Omegas or rouges threw out our lives." He stated before he checked the time. He still had a bit before he needed to get back to work. "As for the fact about them learning their place. Most do learn with force, but there are those few who never learn by force because of their background. Yet like moths to the flame young bloods are often drawn to the old bloods. Rather i is for protection, guidance, or or simply out of curiosity."
BlackCloud was one who hadn't had the chance to learn from an old blood nor had he submitted to others until he was in his late sixty's. It was then he began to push harder to surpass those he had been forced into submission by. There were those out there who abused their power just as humans did. it was wolves like them who gave others a bad reputation and put them all at risk. BlackCloud listened her apology and a small smile played at the corner of his mouth. "You do not need to apologize Miss Simmons." He told her simply. He knew her last name yet she had not given it to him. He wondered if she would catch is or not.
BlackCloud took pride in what he did and had always been able to gather information about others on his own. It was a gift that he had learned in his many years. Truth be told he rather enjoyed digging up information on those who were unaware that he was trailing them. Such skills had helped him when he worked as a P.I. years earlier.

(SO sorry this took too freakin' long! -goes to sit in dog house of shame-) The smell of grease and oil on him was evident, when she finally was able to take her mind of the other scents of the coffee shop, he was either a man who worked on cars or around some sort of machinery. While her nose worked just fine when she was over run with the other scents she was a bit adhd with her nose and if in wolf form would probably be sniffing all over the place like an excited puppy before coming to sniff her acquaintance. While his eyes fixated on hers she had to note the gorgeous color against his coppery skin tone. Interesting. While she was plain with her hazel eyes and brown hair, she wasn't as exotic as the delicious male in front of her. She wondered what it would be like to run with him in wolf form. She was skilled at hiding her emotions and secret thoughts. Instead her actions had her turning her head to the side in curiosity at the male spoke.
"I believe, it's all three. We give off this aura that calms the raging beast within us all. They feel at peace but hate being controlled, [/i]" Ashliya thought back to Lashka the evil woman who planned to turn her. She was controlled by the hag in ways she wished she could have changed. If there was one being in this world that could chill her to the bone it was the mention of that woman and what she had done to her. Even now at the ripe age of one hundred ten she still feared that she-devil. Ashliya then heard him say her last name. Oh there was only one wolf who would know the name of every wolf in his territory. She raised a brow blinked once and mimicked his small smile. " So you know my full name, well that's hardly fair, so was our meeting her coincidental or no? Or tell me what do you know of me?She was amused it had been forever since a wolf could have had the upper hand on her. Though it was creepy, her wolf wanted to bristle her fur and snarl, he'd encroached a bit on her territory. Though if she was right and he was the alpha then he'd actually have a right to know about a loner near his territory. The wolf settled down but her eyes shimmered a hair lighter and towards her wolf's color. It was because he unnerved her for a moment. She was now interested in this and see how much else he knew of her.[/blockquote]

Blackcloud closed his eyes and turned back to the window. After a moment hi opened his piercing gold eyes again. He had known of her presence for a while and had done a little digging threw information channels that were unknown to the human world. He had found out bits about her past and about her being a teacher. It was not hard for Blackcloud to find information on anyone. He thought for a moment on how to best word what he would say. After a few moments had passed he turned his gaze back to her. He saw that he had unnerved her a bit and that her eyes were starting to reveal what she was "Careful there young one. Best you eyes betray your secrets." He told her in a calm, low voice that held authority. "This meeting was not entirely by chance. You just happened to be withing the territory that I work in." he said as he watched her. Though the fact that he was sitting in a Starbucks also indicated that it was not by chance. He hated the cafe and avoided it as often as he could.
He let his eyes study her for a bit. Even in his human form his golden eyes always held a wild and untameable air to them as well as a look of danger. It had to do with his own past as to why he was more wild than most. After a moment his eyes closed again "Do you really wish to hear just how much I know about you?" He asked in a tone that truly was that of an old blood. The Navajo man listened for an answer and sensed her reactions to the manor in which he had asked.
